Ying De Hong, also known as Ying Hong, is a highly regarded black tea from Ying De City in Guangdong Province, China. Notable for its tight, slim, and heavy leaves, Ying De Hong is characterized by its dark, shiny appearance with golden tips. This tea is distinguished by a deep and refreshing aroma with hints of longan, a type of fruit.

In terms of taste, Ying De Hong is mellow and rich, offering a sweet and lasting aftertaste. It is particularly noted for its ability to sustain multiple infusions, maintaining its flavor through several brewings.

This tea has a significant history, having been first introduced in 1959. It is produced using big arbor tea trees from Yunnan, which are cultivated in Ying De City. The most renowned variety of this tea is Ying Hong #9, primarily harvested from the tips, first leaf, and second leaf of the tea plants.

Ying De Hong has earned widespread acclaim, receiving numerous awards in both domestic and international tea competitions. Some of its notable achievements include:

      • Winning the Chinese National Black Tea Competition in 1980.
